RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.

**_Background Information:_**

This full-time position will serve as a member of the Range Data Systems software development team within the Range Systems Branch at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. This position will provide software engineering support to multiple projects at ATR. As a key member of a small team, you will play a vital role in the entire software development lifecycle from planning and design, development, testing, documentation, and user support. The Computer Scientist, Journeyman will work in a rewarding technical environment at the forefront of Naval Test & Evaluation (T&E) supporting the needs of today’s warfighter and beyond.

**_Duties & Responsibilities_**_:_**
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned projects
- Design, develop, test, and document software solutions
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Provide technical support and guidance to users, both in-person and remotely
- Conduct independent research to resolve complex technical issues
- Work effectively in both individual and team environments
- Utilize debugging tools and techniques within Visual Studio to identify and resolve software defects
- Maintain proficiency and adapt quickly to new technologies, including working within an environment with limited internet access while on travel

**_Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications/Licenses:_**
- BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Minimum of three (3) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function
- In lieu of a BS Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and a total of nine (9) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function is required
- CompTIA Security+ certification is required
- Proven experience with C++, JAVA, or other non-interpreted object-oriented programming languages
- Experience with Qt
- Experience using Git version control
- Proven ability to work well with a team of software engineers with specifications, designs, technologies, and operational implementations of software solutions
- Able to work within a large existing code base
- General networking skills required
- Should have familiarity with SQL databases and Windows development environments (Visual Studio, etc.)
- Must have general computer maintenance skills (hardware/software installation and troubleshooting)
- NET framework skills
- Knowledge of Windows Operations Systems is required
- Should be self-motivated, able to work independently, and ask questions as needed with the ability to leverage the internet to locate resolutions to problems
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass drug screenings

**_Clearance Requirement:_**
- Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance throughout employment

**_Work Conditions:_**
- Travel as needed may be required
- Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
