Since its founding in 1986, Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) has been providing private high school education and mentorship to economically and educationally disadvantaged students. Thousands of students are supported by a sponsor and a mentor and attend private partner high schools located in New York City.

As an Engagement Manager at Student Sponsor Partners, you will play a pivotal role in student support, relationship management, and data and systems for case management. Your days will be filled with opportunities to provide guidance and support to students, build and nurture partnerships with students, families, and schools, and utilize data and systems to ensure efficient and effective case management. Your passion for making a positive impact in the lives of students, coupled with your strong organizational skills and attention to detail, will be key in driving our mission forward.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A ENGAGEMENT MANAGER**:
Leadership skills, a customer-centric approach, and empathetic communication are key for building strong relationships with students, mentors, and partners. Demonstrating good judgment, balancing multiple projects, coordinating workload efficiently, and maintaining confidentiality are also crucial in this dynamic and collaborative environment. Proficiency in MS Office and a commitment to SSP's mission and values are fundamental for success in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

- Passionate about school-based work
- supporting student emotional, physical, social, and academic well-being.
- Experience with research methods and data analysis is a plus.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

- Excellent leadership skills.

- Equally comfortable communicating with students and corporate mentors/partners.
- Should demonstrate solid judgment. Must feel comfortable providing guidance and troubleshooting to mentors, students, and families on how to improve their mentoring relationships.

- Exercises confidentiality and discretion.
- Skilled at balancing multiple projects with varying deadlines.
- Must be able to coordinate your workload and schedule with minimum oversight.
- Comfortable with working in a collaborative environment as part of a team. Ability to work well with a variety of other personalities.
- Overall punctuality, dependability, and responsiveness to internal and external requests.
- Enthusiasm to grow and willingness to take on new responsibilities when needed.
- Must have a thorough understanding of developmental expectations for students of different ages.
- Must have thorough understanding of assessments and aptitude tests and the ability to properly interpret the results.
- Must understand warning signs of abuse, neglect, or other crimes.
