**Job Summary**:
The College of Letters & Science (L&S) is the heart of UW-Madison and home to a tremendous breadth and depth of departments and degree-granting programs in the humanities, natural, physical, biological, and social sciences, and the computing, data and information sciences. L&S is recruiting this critical role to provide key project management, communication and change management expertise. Initially, the primary focus of this position is to provide project management for the relocation of three L&S academic units (Computer Science, iSchool and Statistics) to their new facility set to open in the summer of 2025 In parallel, this person will be responsible for a similar process for Levy Hall, set to open in the summer of 2026. This position will also provide project management services and expertise for the one-time physical transition of these units and establishment of operational processes in the new building. The position will collaborate with L&S leads and others in facilities administration, information technology and communications.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Facilities Planning and Development, the Project Manager will:

- Evaluate administrative and related processes, strengthen communication and guide change management activities for the wide variety of stakeholders throughout the college and campus
- Actively contribute to college and campus working groups, develop metrics and use appropriate tools to inform direction as well as maximize success and continuous improvement
- Advance, embed and support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging values and commitments throughout all areas of responsibility

**Responsibilities**: Manages administrative and operational functions of facility planning initiatives or projects to provide informed solutions promoting the effective utilization of resources and provide facility planning solutions.
- 15% Manages and directs operational functions and planning of one or multiple facilities or projects to foster innovative solutions
- 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources to resolve facility issues, recommending alternatives where necessary
- 15% Serves as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information to ensure timely and safe transitioning of major construction or remodeling projects
- 10% Assists with developing operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, best practices, and unit objectives
- 10% Assists with the development, execution, and utilization of strategic planning analysis to determine long term needs and develop sustainable solutions
- 30% Reviews, evaluates, approves, and provides recommendations for facility improvements, space assignments, and proposals utilizing best practices and established policies and procedures

**Qualifications**:
Required Qualifications:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to foster and maintain collaborative, and effective relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, and campus partners
- Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion in resolving competing needs for resources
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders on multiple, complex topics
- Ability to independently plan, establish priorities, and organize varied and complex tasks
- Ability to work on near term and longer term projects at the same time, requiring prioritization of tasks to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between varying levels of administrative units and staff on a variety of issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in Facilities management or related role
- Experience in a higher education or similar work environment
- Experience working with large datasets and ability to manipulate and analyze them

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
