- The 7th District Agricultural Association (DAA), Monterey County Fair, is recruiting to fill one (1) Assistant Satellite Facility Supervisor position located in Monterey, CA.
- Under general supervision of the Deputy Manager I or the Secretary-Manager IV (CEO), the incumbent is responsible for managing, organizing, and supervising the personnel and shift operations of the satellite wagering facility of a Class IV Fair with an annual budget of approximately two million dollars. Duties include but are not limited to:

Enforce the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) rules and regulations and other laws and rules related to satellite wagering.
- Open and close facility daily; managing daily track signals.
- Prepare official daily minutes of the satellite operation.
- Manage all financial aspects of the facility; balancing cash admissions daily along with sales of programs and forms.
- Responsible for all aspects of financial record keeping and reporting.
- Resolve problems and questions of patrons relating to racing and wagering operations.
- Promote and direct preparations for use of the facilities by interim users.
- Ensure facilities are maintained in accordance with Health and Safety Codes and ensure maintenance or repair to facilities are completed.
- Hire, train and supervise employees.
- Oversee performance of licensed parimutuel staff.
- Oversee performance of kitchen staff and daily operations for food and beverage.
- Make appearances to promote the satellite horse wagering operation.

Working Conditions
- The duties of this position are primarily indoors managing the satellite facility. The employee is required to operate various audio/visual equipment while performing duties. Night and weekend work is expected and required as needed.

- The 7th District Agricultural Association (DAA) strives to produce the Monterey County Fair and is a 22-acre facility that operates as a multi-purpose, multi-functional, year-round facility accommodating a variety of interim events along with a satellite wagering facility.
- Special Requirements
- This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within thirty (30) days of appointment, on an annual basis, and upon vacating the position. The incumbent must complete an Ethics orientation training course within six months of assuming a Form 700 covered position, and every two (2) years thereafter, by December 31 of each numbered year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.
- Possession of a license as an Intertrack Operations Steward issued by the California Horse Racing Board is required. (Applicants will be admitted to the exam but must secure the required license prior to assuming Intertrack Operations Steward responsibilities.)
