**Palletizer Operator**

Starting $18/hour

Breeder’s Choice Pet Foods, LLC, is a leading innovator, marketer, and producer of quality branded and custom dog and cat foods. Our manufacturing plant is seeking a candid Palletizer Operator to safely operate the palletizer and transport pallets with a forklift under the general supervision of the Plant Manager.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Perform work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures; comply with all rules, standards, instructions, and requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace and follow required safety procedures.
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift; transfer pallets from the palletizer to the warehouse, load and unload materials onto or from pallets.
- Perform daily start-up procedure; verify line preparation and staging of materials.
- Operate machinery per guidelines and instructions.
- Document downtime, adjustments, product quality inspections, and operating parameters per guidelines on Maintenance/Safety.
- Notify plant and warehouse managers of any safety or mechanical issues.
- Work well with coworkers and be flexible in performing a variety of job tasks.
- Able to carry out the responsibilities and all others that may be assigned in a manner that demonstrates good judgment, common sense, support, and adherence to Breeder’s Safety Policies and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, and the Ethics Policy.
- Performing timely and proper equipment setup is an important job element.

**Required Skills and Abilities**
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Frequent stooping, squatting, overhead lifting, and walking.
- Able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Daily use of industrial equipment (i.e. forklift and other material handling equipment)
- Requires varying degrees of personal protective equipment including bump caps, ear plugs, gloves, coveralls, and safety glasses or goggles.

**Education and Experience**:

- High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience operating machinery is required.
- Successfully complete training and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and converse in English.
- Must have a practical working knowledge of basic arithmetic functions (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction).
- Teamwork-oriented, self-starter, responsible, and exhibits good leadership skills.
