Shipping and Receiving Laborer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Shipping Loader and Unloader Laborer to join our team at Decore-ative Specialties. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of goods and materials from trucks, containers, and other delivery vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently load and unload goods and materials from delivery vehicles, ensuring all items are handled properly to avoid damage.
- Inventory Management: Verify and record the quantity and condition of items during loading and unloading, reporting any discrepancies or damages to the Shipping Supervisor.
- Organization: Organize and stack products and materials in designated areas to facilitate easy access and prevent clutter.
- Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs and records, following company procedures for documenting any issues.
- Equipment Operation: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required, ensuring equipment is in good working condition and reporting any malfunctions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper lifting techniques.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of shipping and receiving tasks.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
