Major Duties:
Collects, manages, analyzes, and reports program data.

Provides management with written and oral (progress and operational) reports in various media on a broad range of administrative or technical programs and makes recommendations for improvement.

Conducts special projects and studies.

Gathers and organizes data to prepare long-range travel plans.

Conducts research, prepares analyses and develops plans to bring project to successful conclusion.

Works closely with senior personnel external to the VAAA regarding interactions with the Chancellor/Deputy Chancellor/Vice Chancellor and maintains liaison and communications with persons and groups from both within and outside the organization, speaking for the Chancellor/ Deputy Chancellor/Vice Chancellor on administrative issues.

Exercises judgment in determining matters which require the immediate or deferred attention of the Chancellor/ Deputy Chancellor/Vice Chancellor and those that can be appropriately referred to other staff or personally handled. Selects and answers inquiries which can be answered from knowledge of the organization programs, and policies and identifies issues requiring policy decisions or are of a controversial nature.

**Qualifications**:

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience office administration experience ;scheduling appointments, meetings, conferences and travel for executive leadership; processing time and attendance for staff; computer and software programs; dealing with confidential, complex, or sensitive matters; time management skills to prioritize and meet firm deadlines; strong writing and speaking skills to communicate professionally with executive leadership, staff and those outside the organization and to review and prepare high-level, professional and grammatically correct communication such as correspondence, reports, inquiries and requests for information. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit.

- A master's degree, equivalent graduate degree, two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. in a related field that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one (1) year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the one (1) year of full-time study requirement.
