**Responsibilities**:

- Speaks to family members upon a person's passing to ascertain what is involved in probating or administering the estate.
- Assist attorneys with preparing probate documents for the Surrogate and estate and inheritance tax returns.
- Assist attorneys in preparing estate, trust and guardianship accountings.
- Assist attorneys in overseeing the distributions of estate assets in a scheduled and timely manner.
- Maintains a spreadsheet of estate administration cases and their progress.

**Skills**:

- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read and review financial statements and relevant legal documents
- Strong organizational skills for file management and record keeping
- Excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients, colleagues, and external parties

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
