The Director of Communications will provide strategic leadership of our Communications team to provide clear and concise messaging that supports the Purpose, Mission, and Values of Wheaton Bible Church of seeing people Love God, Love One Another, Love our Neighbors, and Love the Nations. They are responsible for establishing the culture of excellence and service within the Communications team. They will develop and lead their team through modeling, leadership, professional development, and assessments. They will provide clarity and direction for overarching messaging alignment. They will lead collaboratively promoting unity both as a team and within the church. They will represent their team within the Ministry Leadership Team. **Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications or relevant field of study.
- At least five years of experience in communications, specifically in a strategic role with hands-on management responsibilities. Experience in a large church or non-profit organization is a plus.
- Employment at WBC will be considered in lieu of five years of experience.
- Proven leadership and relational skills; able to establish rapport with staff, members, and volunteers. A servant-leader with strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt to unforeseen circumstances, and a strong commitment to meet concurrent and rigorous deadlines.
- Excellent project management, assessment, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Proven organizational, analytical, and communication skills, including writing and editing.
- High level of proficiency and comfort with web and social media and its use in daily and campaign-specific communication; current and innovative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Broad understanding of video, audio/composition, web development, print design, etc.
- Alignment with and commitment to assisting the ministries of the church in fulfilling our mission, vision, and values.
- Acceptance and agreement with the church’s Statement of Doctrine and Faith and Statement of Christian Lifestyle.
- Become an active member of the church and cultivate a strong connection to the surrounding community.
