**_ Summary:_**

The Maintenance Assistant performs general maintenance and janitorial duties including interior and exterior building repair and cleaning, minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical. Maintain grounds upkeep to help provide a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

**Status Info**:
The Maintenance Assistant is a full-time position, 6:30 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours may be altered during special needs project or during inclement weather.

**Education Requirements**:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old.

**Skills**:
Previous maintenance experience is preferred. Must have working knowledge of different hand and power tools. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record is required. The Maintenance Assistant is a physically active, fast paced position, requiring the ability to manage several tasks and complete projects timely. Requires lifting and transferring objects over 50 pounds.

**Job Duties Include**:

- Utilize good judgment in determining the maintenance needs of campus and communicating needs to supervisor.
- Identify and communicate any safety concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Identifying and repairing any damage to walls, including painting as needed.
- Perform minor carpentry, electrical, and plumbing maintenance as requested by supervisor.
- Maintain clean windows throughout campus
- Maintain stock of all supplies required by maintenance department.
