**Duties**:
**THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION**

The primary purpose of the SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-12, is serve as a personnel supervisor and advise in one or more of the following branches: Education, Automation, Retirement, Boards, Enlisted, Officer, Health Services, Plans and Mobilization Readiness. (Admin Services, Mailroom Operations, Talent Management)
- Oversees daily operations of record and personnel record management operations and supervises Federal and State compliance mandates for records management. Plans, operates and administers the operation of the military personnel automation systems. Provides advice, guidance, and direction to employees on a wide range of military human resources and administrative issues. Oversees Federal and State compliance, as well as all mailroom logistics and daily administrative operations in support of over 16k employees and logistics operations. Create and implement compliancy policy and guidelines in accordance with US law, regulations, and directives, as well as coordinate inspections for established compliancy programs.
- Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Identifies or consults with subordinate supervisors and Human Resources Specialists on employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance. Encourages self-development.
- Oversees Federal and State compliance, as well as all mailroom logistics and daily administrative operations in support of over 16k employees and logistics operations. Create and implement compliancy policy and guidelines in accordance with US law, regulations, and directives, as well as coordinate inspections for established compliancy program.

May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

**Qualifications**:
- Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.

**This is an Excepted Service position. Applicants who currently hold a Competitive Service status and is offered a position with the California National Guard, will lose their Competitive Service status to become Excepted Service.** Competitive Service applicants who are Career and have completed the three year service requirement permanent tenure (Block 24 reflects "1") are eligible for lifetime reinstatement rights. Competitive Service applicants who are Career Conditional and have not completed the three year service requirement (Block 24 reflects "2") are eligible for three year reinstatement rights.
