**Duties**:

- The Regional Program Director (RPD) provides executive leadership and strategic visioning for their respective region. The RPD provides direction to effectively implement policy and provide training and_ _technical assistance planning to support the success of their Head Start and Early Head Start programs in the region. The RPD is a model leader, and an effective communicator and collaborator with internal and external partners, as necessary._

**Qualifications**:

**Basic Requirement**:You must meet one of the items listed below (A, B, or C):

- A. Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts)
- B. Possess a combination of education and experience - that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcript)
- C. Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
- **Specialized Experience**:GS-15**: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the **GS-14 **level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (4) of the (5) duties listed below:

- 1. Directing implementation of head start programs policies and procedures to recommend strategies and/or approaches to improve overall performance of the program;
- 2. Developing work plans to carry out initiatives aimed at improving effectiveness of head start programs;
4. Overseeing the funding of head start programs to make recommendations to leadership;
- 5. Identifying the need for program and management improvements to recommend methods and/or resources to expand or improve the quality of services and/or management practices.
