**Primary Purpose**:
Assist with program management, guidance, and direction to School Counselors in the development and implementation of the district Counseling and
Guidance Comprehensive Program and the College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) program, consistent with the district and school-identified needs,
goals, and objectives. Provide support for the implementation of the elementary, middle, and high school guidance programs. Support the District’s
instructional program by assisting and coordinating guidance activities which are designed to assist students in their personal, social, emotional, and
intellectual development consistent with the goals set forth by the district and state.

**Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification)**:
Master’s Degree; Texas Educator certification in Counseling; three (3) years school counseling experience. Displayed ability to lead and positively influence
counselors.

**Major Responsibilities**:
1. Assist counselors in the development of Guidance Activities.
2. Serve as a consultant to counselors
3. Assist in school-wide college/career guidance activities and college & career fairs.
4. Assist and guide College and Career Advisors with College, Career, and Military Readiness activities.
5. Review, develop, and monitor (in conjunction with College and Career Advisors) a tracking system for: College Career & Military Readiness (CCMR),

FAFSA completions using district resources.
6. Facilitate the transition for students between elementary and secondary campuses.
7. Assist counselors with the course selection process and choice sheets.
8. Assist counselors with graduation plans, 6-year plans, and the maintenance and auditing of student transcripts.
9. Assist counselors with post-secondary opportunities and career development for all students.
10. Assist in the development/maintenance of an emergency plan and, in response to a campus crisis, assist with social workers in providing campus

support.
11. Assist with the creation of a year-long, month-by-month, counseling calendar.
12. Assist with the planning and presentation of regular district counseling meetings and professional learning activities for each level (elementary,

middle, & high school) to enhance their job-related knowledge and skills.
13. Assist in the development, review, and annual updating of the district High School and Middle School course catalogs
14. Assist in the development, review, and annual updating of the district crisis response handbook.
15. Assist with secondary campuses master schedule process as needed.
16. Provide for articulation of the guidance program by helping to conduct regular meetings of counselors. Facilitate the participation of the guidance

staff in professional development experiences to enhance their job-related knowledge and skills.
17. Provide feedback as requested to guidance staff, counselors and office personnel in accordance with state law and Board policy.

18. Help disseminate, in accordance with district procedures, a comprehensive description of the K-12 Guidance Program including policies, procedures,
and other components.

19. Promote on-going, two-way communications with students, school personnel, parents and others to enhance the guidance services program and
the school district.

20. Help maintain communication with offices and agencies that provide specialized help to students and parents.
21. Help identify and address the needs of special populations through special guidance programs and other activities (i.e., at-risk youth, disaffected

students, McKinney-Vento students).
23. Support the process used by campuses to register new students and the transfer of students.
24. Support the process to recruit, screen, interview and recommend new counselors for the district.
25. Participate in administrative and curricula meetings and at relevant local, county and state guidance meetings.
26. Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the profession by attending professional workshops and meetings, reading professional journals

and other publications, and participating in other experiences. Maintain knowledge of the instructional and extracurricular programs of the district
and utilize this information in working with staff, students, parents and others to enable students to obtain maximum benefit from their school
experience.

27. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
28. Perform other duties as assigned.
