- The NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.-
- The Office of Tax Enforcement is the criminal investigative arm of the Tax Audit and Enforcement Division, investigating tax fraud of any tax type for any period that falls within the criminal statute of limitations. We conduct criminal investigations of City Business Tax crimes as well as State Tax crimes that affect the City.
- The Office of Tax Audit & Enforcement is seeking two (2) dedicated, detail-oriented Operations Support Specialists. The duties and responsibilities will include:
- Assist supervisor with day-to-day operations.
- Handle or redirect in-person and telephone inquiries to appropriate units.
- Maintain correspondence tracking system to ensure that all written inquiries are responded to timely.
- Assist with special projects and assignments.
- Prepare, distribute, and file memos, correspondence and reports.
- Use MS Office; MS Word and Excel to prepare documents and correspondence.
- Make photocopies, fax documents, and maintain filing system.
- Sort, distribute and track mail.
- Perform other administrative duties, such as assist with handling and distributing office supplies, and ensure printers and copier stations have necessary materials.
- May serve as the backup receptionist to cover the reception areas.
- Submit supply requisitions for the unit.

Minimum QualificationsQualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.

Preferred Skills- Detailed oriented and able to handle multiple projects and assignments. - Knowledge of MS Word, Excel is required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.- 55a ProgramThis position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
