**Schedule**

This position would work in person Monday-Friday and weekend hours as needed.

**Qualifications**
- Strong desire and proven ability to work with children, families, and community partners.
- The Program Assistant must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- The Program Assistant must be a confident, patient problem solver and must be able to work autonomously and with limited direction at all times.
- Ability to relate to children and other staff as part of a team.
- Strong character including but not limited to a sense of humor, enthusiasm, maturity and patience.
- Excellent customer service sand problem solving skills.
- The ability and willingness to juggle many tasks and demands at once, to interact directly with the public.
- Previous work experience is not required, but one or two years’ experience is a plus.
- Experience in the children’s recreational or educational programs is helpful, because the Program Instructor plays a central role in helping Hill House run more than 150 classes and programs.
- The Program Assistant must be highly motivated and have flexibility to perform the diverse range of tasks required in a small, non-profit setting. An entrepreneurial, get-it-done instinct and attitude are crucial.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in administration of programs at both Hill House properties and on various athletic fields.
- Work closely with the Program Director and programs team to ensure the delivery of high quality programs to Boston residents.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of classrooms and other facilities as needed.
- Help with the running and staffing of building rentals.
- Monitor the entry and departure of class participants.
- Assist in the running of our monthly evening events for tweens and teens.
- Support Executive Director, Program Director, or other leadership team staff with administrative tasks as assigned.
- Assist with the organization and oversight of our Day Camp

**Reporting**

The Program Office Assistant reports to Hill House’s Office and Events Coordinator and programs team, but works closely with all staff.

**Work Conditions**

The Program Office Assistant will be a part-time, 20 hour per week, non-exempt position without benefits. Hours vary depending on schedule and season. The applicant may be asked to work on periodic weekends, depending on the program schedule. Other responsibilities may be required by the Board of Directors or Executive Director to fulfill the mission and goals of Hill House.
