This position reports to the Head of School and is a 12-month full-time senior administrative position. The Dean of Students & Belonging works closely with the Head of School and other senior administrators to develop student programming (the Commons), to support students through the fair and equitable delivery of student discipline, and to oversee all student field study and student clubs and activities. Additionally, the Dean will assist in the advancement of the School’s approach to DEIJB and students’ socio-emotional competencies.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- At least 3 year’s experience as an elementary or middle school administrator with an emphasis on a restorative justice approach to student discipline.
- At least 5 year’s experience as a lead elementary or middle school teacher
- Proven excellence in building highly successful DEIJB learning spaces
- Proven success in coaching faculty to design rigorous and equity-framed instruction with differentiated student assessment and learning
- Proven success in designing socio-emotional learning space for early elementary, elementary, upper elementary or middle school children
- Successfully applies growth-mindedness, honesty, high standards and empathy to one’s own professional growth
- Masters or undergraduate degree in child psychology or socio-emotional learning preferred
- Must be collaborative, advance DEIJB and socio-emotional values in addition to being in alignment with the school’s mission

**Essential Functions/Duties Include**:

- Staffs the Center for Belonging
- Serves as key senior admin in charge with other student-facing positions from 7:30am to 5:45pm daily to support after school until all students are dismissed
- Partner with Assistant Head for Systems and Matriculation on student discipline K-6
- Partner with Assistant Head for Systems and Matriculation on family and employee handbooks, in close consultation with Assistant Head for Early Child Learning
- Senior administrator responsible for advancing the school’s DEIJB mission
- Chairs the faculty equity team
- Senior staff for board of trustees’ DEIJB Committee
- Coordinates family, student and staffulty affinity groups
- Oversees the Commons (assembly) program
- Oversees all field study
- Chairs the school’s equity team
- Serves on the Senior Administrative Team
- Partners with the chaplain to ensure a DEIJB lens for our Episcopal identity
- Chairs the school’s Child Study Team
- Supports the school’s strategic initiatives related to admission (class visits, notes to families, open houses, fairs, etc.) and advancement of mission (collaborating with the Communications Office with DEIJB and student life communications)
- Oversees all staffing and schedules for drop off, pick up, recess, lunch and aftercare; senior admin in charge of Beyond School administrators and play team and aftercare program administrators
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
