Duties

This position is located in the Office of Field Operations in Washington, D.C.

As Supervisory Industry Operations Specialist, Deputy Chief (IOI), GS-1801-15, typical work assignments may include:
Supervise and manage the FMS staff personnel and the Operations Support Branch.
Responsible for providing assistance, advice, and recommendations to FO's executive staff on a wide variety of complex operations involving industry and investigative matters.
Coordinate task forces or working groups on significant Industry Operations issues which impact the daily operations of industry operations investigators in the field.
Oversee the research and dissemination of technical knowledge and advice relating to ATF Industry Operations programs.
Supervise industry operations investigators, criminal investigators, program analysts, and other administrative employees
Monitor use of resources, review expenditures, and ensure compliance with safety programs and trainings.

This is a non-bargaining unit position.

**Key Requirements**:

**Qualifications**:
This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

**Specialized experience includes**:
Conduct regulatory enforcement investigations ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Agency policies and laws; AND
Assist with long-and short-range management improvement studies aimed at improving productivity or resolving problems; AND
Lead working groups, set priorities and standards, and review completed work to ensure all are in compliance with regulatory laws and Field Office standards; AND
Participate in preparation of budget forecasts and justifications.
