Access ASU’s programs and initiatives are designed to ensure all Arizona students graduate high school ready to thrive in college and the 21st century workforce.
Educational Outreach - Access ASU is currently hiring a Director of Outreach Experiences to support Access ASU programs designed to educate and prepare students and families for enrollment and success at ASU.
Under administrative direction, plans, organizes and directs the entire operations of a department to ensure ongoing efficient and effective delivery of services in accordance with established priorities, strategies and goals.

**Days and Schedule**:
Work location is primarily in-person at the ASU Tempe campus. The incumbent will be required to drive personal vehicle to other ASU campuses to perform work, and community events. Work schedule will be flexible, depending on when programs are offered, to include evenings and weekends as needed. On days when programs are not offered, work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8 a.m.5 p.m.

**Essential Duties**
- Plans, directs and reviews activities and operations of the Outreach experiences team to ensure achievement of established objectives and goals consistent with the mission of the University and Access ASU.
- Develops strategies and approaches to successfully implement strategic initiatives; assists with developing annual strategic goals and objectives along with internal policy and procedure to aid in meeting those goals and objectives.
- Plans, directs, and reviews programming and activities to increase knowledge about the university and resources for students.
- Prepares and coordinates reports related to programming, events and data.
- Implements and tracks progress toward university enrollment goals.
- Proactively utilizes data from multiple sources to make strategic and efficient decisions.
- Works directly with fellow Access ASU Directors to develop and implement strategies and to ensure alignment of efforts.
- Participates in the hiring, training, and evaluation of department staff and students; supervises directly and/or through subordinate management all department staff.
- Collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives; maintains effective relationships.
- Serves as a representative of the University at state, regional and national organizations, boards, councils, and committees, as assigned.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define and identify all required infrastructure needs to implement strategic initiatives set forth by evolving department and portfolio.
- Resolves problems and/or issues affecting the department; directs measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
- Directs, manages and oversees the design, development, coordination and evaluation of departmental programs and projects to ensure achievement of established outcomes.

**Day-to-day responsibilities**:
**Team Leadership/Supervision**:
Supervise and mentor a team of professional and student staff, providing guidance and support in their roles.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
**Campus Visits Strategy**:
Oversee a comprehensive strategy to enrich campus visits from grade level students across Arizona.
Collaborate with admissions, academic units and outreach teams to tailor campus visit programs to the needs and interests of visiting high school groups.
**Residential Summer Campus Programs**:
Oversee planning and execution of residential summer campus programs offered to high school students.
Coordinate with HR, the data team, business operations, risk management and parking and transit to ensure efficiency and compliance with ASU policies and best practices.
Collaborate with academic departments, student affairs and other entities to design program schedules.
Work closely with marketing team to develop and implement strategies to maximize participation.
**Special Events**:
Oversee planning special events and focus on providing college readiness and career exploration resources to participants.
