A. Purpose and Scope

This position is responsible for performing duties involved in preparing and serving food and beverages as well as performing related cleaning duties. This position follows a standard procedure and work is performed under close supervision.

B. Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh vegetables for the salad bar.
- Prepare fruits and snacks for the grab-n-go cooler and restock at the end of each day.
- Deep fry some sandwich items such as fish, tenderloins, etc. and side items such as french fries, onion rings, etc.
- Replenish items on the serving line, salad bar and the condiment table during lunch.
- Assist in the breakdown and cleaning of the serving line and salad bar after lunch.
- Clean and disinfect tables and chairs in the dining room after lunch.
- Assist in receiving and stocking food items.
- Perform cleaning and mopping activities throughout the kitchen and dining area.
- Serve as supervisor if Food Service Manager is absent.
- Perform other related duties as may be required by the Food Service Manager.

C. Job Requirements

1. Education and training:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience or education sufficient to enable an individual to understand and follow verbal or written instructions.

2. Technical knowledge:

- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

3. Experience:

- A minimum of one (1) year experience in food service preparation is preferred.
