In collaboration with community partners in Chicago and dedicated funders, MFS established Metropolitan Peace Initiatives in response to record levels of community violence. This framework brings together community-driven strategies that empower community-based organizations to intervene with those individuals at the highest risk of driving the violence while working with the overall resident population to transform perceptions and realities of their community. This holistic framework responds to high-risk incidents while also being proactive in preventing situations. A goal of this strategy is to increase the collaboration of community-based organizations across communities.

We are now hiring for a full-time **MPI Director of Clinical Training** **to join our **Metropolitan Peace Initiatives** Team

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Oversees the administrative operations of trainings that integrate clinical services and
skill building.
- Foster an environment of open communications and collaboration, which builds a
student-centered, community-focused team among all academy staff and partners.
- Develops and coordinates clinical services training including outreach, case management,
victim services, therapeutic and other direct services.
- Coordinate the development of the intern training curriculum and instructors to cultivate
leadership in the field of case management, social work and counseling;
- Writes clinical training annual and long-range plans. Participates in developing MPA and
Behavioral Health Services annual and long-range plan
- Work in collaboration with the Metropolitan Peace Academy Director of Operations to
provide optimal and relevant programming.
- Assures appropriate integrations of multi-service, multi-disciplinary, and systems
approach to trainings.
- Develops and maintains contacts with community groups relating to training needs.
- Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
- Coordinates trainings for MPI staff, interns, Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners, and
external partners on Trauma Informed Care and Crisis Intervention Protocols
- Develops network database of trauma informed clinical services to support participant
and programmatic needs.
- Works collaboratively with community agencies, organizations, and institutions.
- Works with the Executive Team to identify opportunities, cultivate relationships, and
opportunities
- Collaborates with Metropolitan Peace Initiatives and external partners to provide
targeted supportive services to participants
- Facilitates opportunities to foster outreach worker and case manager collaborations.
- Identify wellness vendors and programming that will extend the learning for the MPA
graduates.
- Create a wellness curriculum/programming for MPI staff.
- Provides emergency support to Metropolitan Peace Initiatives partners and participants
in crisis;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a program supervisor with increasing levels of responsibility.
- LCSW or LCPC
- Mobility for travel.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated superior skills with families or communities.
- Demonstrated competence in consultation, teaching, and writing.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment. If an approved Medical exemption is obtained, weekly testing is required.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
