**Catalent Pharma Solutions in San Diego is currently hiring a Metrology Technician **who will be responsible to assist with the oversight and maintenance of applicable electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental, and/or chemical test equipment in the laboratory. They will assist with maintaining the appropriate calibration, verification, and/or qualification of laboratory and quality systems. They will also assist the Laboratory Operations Manager in laboratory administration and management.
This position is 1st shift Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm or 7:00AM - 4:00PM

**The Role**:
- Participation in maintenance of all related temperature and humidity stability chambers as well as other applicable laboratory equipment (i.e. dissolution baths, KF, MilliQ Water Systems, ELGA Water Systems);
- Assist the Metrology Engineers with HPLC/UPLC systems, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, GCs, etc.;
- Provides timely assistance with equipment troubleshooting and repair, and ensures effective communication to laboratory staff regarding equipment repair and availability;
- Assist in the management and oversight of equipment service contracts, service technician repairs and interdepartmental logistics;
- Participate in meetings, conference calls, and other interactions with vendors and department heads;
- Assists Laboratory Operations Manager and Metrology Engineers with review of IQ/OQ/PQ data packages, protocols and reports;
- Maintain a high level of professional expertise through training and familiarity with applicable literature;
- Assists Laboratory Operations Manager and department heads with determining appropriate strategies for use/retirement/purchase of applicable temperature and humidity stability chambers;
- Evaluate and implement solutions to problems related to Metrology discipline;
- Understand cGMPs, Catalent SOPs and Catalent systems applicable to work performed;
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a High school diploma required. A.S. in Science highly preferred. Experience in GMP/ISO environment strongly preferred;
- 2+ years of applicable pharmaceutical, device, or metrology experience, familiarity with GMPs, and demonstration of strong organizational and communication skills;
