Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York, one of the country's most prestigious fertility centers, is looking for a Laboratory Operations Coordinator to work in our Embryology laboratory at our Manhattan office. Responsibilities include:
Operations:
- Coordinate scheduling of frozen oocyte and embryo shipments with the frozen embryo disposition team
- Oversight of cryo storage space logistics including designation of storage spaces in accordance with FDA screening status
- Coordination of couriers and package shipments
- Maintain up to date templates for patient charts and laboratory forms
- Troubleshooting issues that arise within the department external to laboratory procedures
- Oversight and ordering of laboratory supplies and inventory
- Coordinate scheduling of vendors and maintenance personnel inside the laboratory
- Oversee repairs, installation, or removal of equipment
- Create a daily laboratory staff schedule
- Organize and maintain staff vacation requests
Technical:
- Develop an expert level knowledge of our EMR
- Ability to troubleshoot EMR issues and questions with the EMR programmers
- Develop an understanding of laboratory quality control, noting out of range readings, troubleshooting, and verifying
- Critical thinking through development of laboratory related queries and algorithms in coordination with the data science team
- Moving cryopreserved specimens from a liquid nitrogen storage dewar to a transport tank for shipment or vice versa
- High level of attention to detail when witnessing patient labels
- A bachelor’s degree in biology or related field
- Must be able to meet deadlines on multiple projects and be able to work independently as well as part of a highly specialized team
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Four 10-Hour Shifts
