**The opportunity**

The Director of Global Communications will be responsible for the development, execution, and outcomes of our global corporate communications strategy, including a broad range of public relations activities across all parts of the business in the U.S., EMEA, and APAC. This individual and their team will be ambassadors for the Communications organization and will build and foster relationships with internal stakeholders across teams and external partners. You will design and steer communications campaigns in support of our communications and business objectives to help advance Unity's reputation and perception among key external audiences. You will report to the VP of Global Communications and be a critical part of the communications leadership team and will work closely with the entire C-suite and other leaders across Unity.

**What you'll be doing**
- Communications strategy - design and implement Unity's communications strategy to deliver top-of-funnel awareness and increase brand relevance and positive word-of-mouth among target audiences, both locally and globally
- Public relations - own and lead all aspects of PR, including agency relationships and relationships with international, national, and regional technology, gaming, and business media, with the goal of maximizing share of voice in top-tier outlets
- Executive communications - explore and develop new thought leadership opportunities for our C-suite and prepare executive speakers for interviews, conferences, keynotes, etc.
- Craft narratives - develop customer-led narratives anchored in proof points and data
- Collaborate - work cross-functionally with the rest of the communications and the marketing teams, investor relations, product, sales, legal, etc. to ensure consistent messaging and the successful implementation of high-impact, multimodal, and multichannel communications initiatives
- Make it happen - get it done, build and lead successful teams that deliver results
- Take initiative - a creative, resourceful, and resilient self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment where initiative and innovation are required
- Ability to develop and execute crisis communication plans to manage potential reputational risks effectively

**What we're looking for**
- 15+ years of experience in communications
- Strong executive presence
- Proven experience in a senior management role, ideally both in-house and with an agency, experienced in building, mentoring, and coaching a distributed team of communications experts at a global company
- Proven experience in a Corporate Comunications role at a publicly traded company.
- Strong understanding of the communications ecosystem and the importance of an integrated communications approach to storytelling
- Demonstrated skills and proven success proactively and reactively building and fostering relationships with reporters and editors at top-tier publications, leading to message pull-through
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in designing and implementing comprehensive communications, and programs to advance an organization's mission and goals
- Innovative problem solver, with a track record for translating critical thinking into action plans and output
- Metrics-driven approach to measuring success
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills
- Operate with a sense of urgency
