**Are you someone who is passionate about serving and building relationships with patients?**

**UPMC Hanover's Pulmonary Rehab Center is adding a Patient Services Representative to their team - to support Pulmonary Rehab patients who visit the office twice per week. It's the perfect opportunity to support consistent patients and the Respiratory Therapists who administer their treatments.**

**The hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM. No weekends or holidays required**

**Purpose**:
The Patient Services Representative welcomes patients, educates them on financial matters, schedules appointments, and ensures excellent service at UPMC facilities.

**Responsibilities**:
**Patient Assistance**:

- Provide clear instructions to help patients navigate the healthcare system.
- Follow up on unresolved patient questions or needs for continuity of care.

**Check-In and Scheduling**:

- Guide patients through self-arrival technology or check them in at the front desk.
- Schedule or connect patients to resources for ancillary services during checkout.
- Educate patients on financial responsibility and connect them to advocacy resources.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Obtain patient consent following HIPAA rules.
- Verify insurance benefits via online systems or phone inquiries.
- Promote the MyUPMC patient portal and assist with registration.
- Collect copayments and other applicable payments at the point of service.
- Register patients in the Biometrics program and update their information at checkout.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in a medical / billing / fiscal or customer service function preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred.

**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances**:

- Act 34
