Position Summary

Columbia Center for Community Health is home to Columbia’s Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Institute called Institute for Training Outreach and Community Health (InTOuCH). This program recruits trusted members from faith and community-based organizations to complete an eight-week, certified CHW training curriculum in stroke and cardiovascular disease prevention.

Reporting to the InTOuCH Program Director, the Program Coordinator will have a strong understanding of the socio-cultural factors that contribute to health disparities, with a specific focus on African-American faith-based communities. The Program Coordinator will support the Program Director in developing and maintaining relationships by conducting outreach to community faith leaders at community meetings in under-represented communities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partners with Program Director, Community Outreach Coordinator, and CHW in managing the evening cohorts of the community health workers of the InTOuCH CHW training program
- Works closely with Senior Program Administrator to support training related activities
- Recruits members from faith and community-based organizations for program enrollment i.e. the evening cohorts
- Leads and facilitates CHW trainings of upcoming cohorts at varied times throughout the day i.e. morning and evenings
- Supports and oversees community screening and outreach activities with individual CHWs and alumni groups
- Leads and facilitates the Community Advisor Board (CAB) meetings
- Leads and facilitates CHW cohort leader meetings as well as other CHW related research projects
- Plans and leads the alumni continuing health education and re-certification courses
- Collaborates with research coordinator to develop and implement CHW performance metrics
- Collaborates with research coordinator in the curriculum development project
- Process participant recruitment activities, participant payments, data entry and analysis, and manuscript preparation
- Assists with the annual continuation process for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and revisions
- Assists Program Director with creating and submitting annual study progress reports
- Identifies funding opportunities for the program by writing and processing the submission of potential grant funding sources
- Manages the InTOuCH website, Courseworks training platform, and quarterly newsletter
- Creates and disseminates InTOuCH-related health education messages via social media platforms
- Supports the day to day operations for Program Director, and Principle Investigation (PI) including meeting logistics, correspondence and budget for the InTOuCH program
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Flexibility in hours (i.e. will work during the evenings and at least 1 Saturday / month).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple diverse projects.
- Experience developing, distributing, and evaluating on-line surveys with software (e.g., Qualtrics).
- Pursuing or have been awarded a Masters or Doctorate level degree in public health, social work, counseling, sociology or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with principles of community-based participatory research.
- Comfortable engaging with people from Faith-Based Organizations.
- Clinical, research, and/or personal experience working with local churches and community-based organizations.
- Strong writing and communication skills and experience conducting literature reviews.
- Familiar with Institutional Review board protocols, databases, etc.
- Proficiency in Atlas or similar Qualitative Data Analysis Program.
