About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for an Employee Relations Specialist to join the Human Resources Team t o create and maintain a positive employee relations environment by addressing and thoroughly investigating employee relations issues and concerns and providing objective and fair guidance and resolution. Desired candidates will have experience with labor relations and survey readiness.

Responsibilities include .

Serves as a consultant to Human Resources Business Partners, leadership, HR colleagues and other caregivers on policies and other ER issues.

Provides guidance and recommendation to leaders on appropriate disciplinary action and conflict management processes. Assists leaders and employees with resolving conflicts.

Collaborates on and supports implementation of various ER/HR projects.

Collaborates with operational management to achieve Christiana Care business objectives such as change leadership, retention initiatives, improving employee engagement and Christiana Care's strategic goal as Great Place to Work.

Tracks key metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Develops and implements policies and practices, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Appropriately interprets and communicates policies throughout the system.

Creates content and facilitates employee relations education.

Conducts fact finding and drafts responses to third-party claims (EEOC, Unemployment, ADEA, etc.) Represents Christiana Care at agency hearings.

Builds and maintains proactive, collaborative relationships with HR colleagues and involves them in strategic partnership meetings as appropriate.

Maintains open communication with key business partners highlighting significant themes.

Provide people management resources and recommendations to help leaders achieve unit goals.

Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.

Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years' experience in Human Resources or related field involving conflict resolution or problem solving of human capital. PHR /SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience with labor relations is preferred.
  • Experience with survey readiness if preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
