Join our team as a Senior Estimator helping to spearhead growth in the Pacific Northwest as part of a team in Oregon that's passionate about delivering impactful projects, fostering growth, and embracing an entrepreneurial spirit.Here's how a Senior Estimator for our Portland office contributes to our team:ResponsibilitiesEstimate and Buy-Out: Prepare as-bid estimates and develop trade buy-out strategies in collaboration with the operations team.Tender Coordination: Collaborate with external consultants and manage the tender development process.Pricing Leadership: Lead the pricing strategy for general expenses and project-specific requirements for medium to large projects.Client Presentations: Assist in preparing and delivering proposals and presentations to clients.Contract Analysis: Review and analyze contract documents and specifications for various project types, including hard-bid/lump sum, construction management, and design-build.Scheduling: Develop critical path schedules with milestones to ensure timely project completion.Quantity Take-Off: Perform comprehensive take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials for large scopes of work.Risk Management: Conduct risk and opportunity analyses to integrate into the project's risk register.Project Success Criteria: Monitor and ensure project-specific success criteria are met, offering innovative solutions to challenges.Entrepreneurial: Will join a team leading an extension effort into the Oregon and SW Washington market.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent Trade experience.10+ years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating with 12 months of onsite experience preferred.Proven experience in leading estimates and/or pursuits for projects valued up to $250 million.Strong understanding of construction methods, planning, and scheduling.Extensive knowledge of bid preparation, trade procurement, and bid closing.Expert in contract terms and identifying contract risks.Excellent communication skills, especially oral.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Extremely flexible to manage varied workloads.Hands-on team player who supports staff.Mentoring approach with strong interpersonal skills.Self-motivated and resourceful with strong organizational skills.Strong relationships in the subcontracting community and willingness to nurture those relationships.PCL is a leading, employee-owned company dedicated to excellence in construction.
