Associate Director of Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated RN Supervisor to oversee the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care on the unit during off shifts. The ideal candidate will uphold our Hospital and Nursing Service mission, vision, values, and strategic planning while ensuring high standards of clinical management, patient care, budgeting, and quality management.

*Key Responsibilities:*

_Standard Compliance:_
* Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards of care (e.g., CMS, IHI, CAP).
* Develop and implement quality/performance improvement programs.
* Use "tracer" methodology tools to develop corrective action plans and embed quality care into clinical practice.

_Operational Performance:_
* Collaborate with staff and department directors to develop, prepare, and monitor personnel, supply, and equipment budgets.
* Develop long-term unit staffing schedules and ensure daily coverage.
* Monitor unit operational performance metrics, agency, and overtime costs.

_Clinical Practice/Patient Care:_
* Collaborate with the CNO to establish and evaluate nursing care standards.
* Facilitate support services essential to patient care.
* Maintain a safe, caring environment conducive to positive health teaching and maintenance, and culturally sensitive patient care.

_Management:_
* Participate in the overall planning process for the service.
* Use patient satisfaction survey findings to establish unit-based customer service agendas.
* Use staff satisfaction survey findings to establish a unit-based recruitment and retention agenda.
* Develop effective plans for delivering nursing care within the assigned area of responsibility.

_Human Resource Development/Management:_
* Educate and evaluate staff on new and existing department procedures and systems.
* Provide opportunities for growth and development of personnel through appropriate education and training.
* Establish unit metrics and goals to measure the effectiveness of retention strategies.

*Skills:*
* Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent creative skills and the ability to improve existing programs, services, and processes.
* Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions without compromising patient care.

*Requirements:*
* Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
* Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
* Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience, including previous supervisory experience.
* Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Floating to other departments/units.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68.00 - $72.00 per hour
