About the Job:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Nursing to oversee our IMC unit during off-shifts, including weekends and holidays. This role is vital in ensuring the highest standard of patient care and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

Standard Compliance:

  • Stay current with and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards (e.g., CMS, IHI, CAP).
  • Develop and implement quality and performance improvement programs.
  • Utilize tracer methodology to create and execute corrective action plans, ensuring high-quality care is consistently delivered.

Operational Performance:

  • Collaborate with staff and support department directors to develop, prepare, and monitor budgets for personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Establish and manage long-term unit staffing schedules, ensuring adequate daily coverage.
  • Track and monitor unit performance metrics, including agency and overtime costs.

Clinical Practice/Patient Care:

  • Work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to establish and enforce nursing care standards.
  • Ensure support services are effectively provided to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain a safe, caring, and culturally sensitive environment for patients, fostering positive health outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Management:

  • Participate in overall service planning and lead unit-specific planning processes.
  • Utilize patient and staff satisfaction surveys to drive improvements in customer service and employee recruitment and retention.
  • Develop and implement an effective nursing care delivery plan for the assigned area.

Human Resource Development/Management:

  • Provide education and training to staff on new and existing department procedures and systems.
  • Offer opportunities for staff growth and development, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Establish and monitor unit metrics and goals to evaluate the effectiveness of retention strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Licensure: Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State (Required)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including previous supervisory experience (Required)
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; creativity in improving programs and processes


Schedule:

  • Shift: Night Shift (12:00 AM - 8:15 AM), including alternating weekends
  • Experience: Must have acute care experience and Joint Commission Readiness experience
