The Housekeeping Supervisor provides support and direction for our Housekeeping, Custodial and Laundry team members.  The Housekeeping Supervisor, ensures that quality standards are being met and helping to ensure the community is maintained in a attractive and orderly condition.  As a representative and team member of environmental services department, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.   

Essential Work Duties Includes:

  • Presents and maintains a positive customer service focus when interacting with residents, visitors, vendors and team members;
  • Prepares daily and monthly work schedules;
  • Takes inventory of stock on hand on a bi-weekly basis; orders housekeeping and laundry supplies;
  • Assists in taking visual assessment of residents' homes and apartments; tracking of the need for carpet and drapery cleaning and/or replacement; inspects quality of housekeeping work;
  • Provides instruction, assigning, reviewing, and planning the work of team members, and maintaining standards;
  • Works as a hands-on supervisor, assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to residents when necessary by performing job duties of team members;
  • Interviews, hires, orients and trains new team members;
  • Coaches for high performance outcomes;
  • Visits new residents and assist them with scheduling of housekeeping;
  • Ensures compliance to regulations regarding housekeeping and laundry;

    • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

      Education –

      • High school diploma or equivalent.

      Experience/Training  –

      • Minimum two years’ experience performing general housekeeping, preferably in healthcare or hospitality setting
      • Prior Supervisory experience needed, preferably with 2 years or more experience 
      • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
      • Experience with MS Office and related applications
      • Payroll, timekeeping and basic knowledge of Human Resources management strongly preferred
      • Ability to communicate effectively and hospitably, both orally and in writing

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

      • Able to conduct daily rounds and routine assessments for large campus setting to ensure quality of standards being met
