Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24 hour, seven day a week functions of a clinical nursing unit(s).

What you will do in this role:

  • Administers, plans and evaluates the activities of the department(s) to ensure quality patient care.
  • Develops goals, policies and procedures, prepares and submits operating and capital budgets, participates in multidisciplinary QI teams, consults with staff, physicians and other departments as needed.
  • Manages staffing patterns with the assistance of Assistant Nurse Managers and the House Supervisors on a shift-to-shift basis. Follows policies and procedures. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to facility standards of behavior

What qualifications you will need:

  • Florida RN licensure required

· Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

· A minimum of one (1) year management experience is preferred

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree

HCA Florida West Hospital is a 515-bed facility. We are proud to be the area's leading health care facility in quality outcomes performance. Our hospital is the first in the state of Florida to have earned Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services Accreditation. We have an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. We provide a specialized Emergency Department tailored to the needs of seniors and children. We have a Kid’s ER dedicated to our youngest patients. We offer services including cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, and orthopedics. Other services that we offer include robotic-assisted surgery, critical care, and neurology/neurosurgery. We also offer urology, gastroenterology, obstetrics, and pulmonary and rehabilitative medicine.
