Purpose and Impact:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring LSF’s compliance with ORR policies. This involves the management of formal internal quality assurance processes, up-to-date knowledge of federal and state policy and procedures, and communication with ORR on internal quality assurance efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with data entry of impact and key metrics for the development of trend reporting and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with LSF, ORR contract, and COA procedures, standards and protocols.
  • Lead the development, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of program performance initiatives with program staff.
  • Respond to internal and external audit findings.
  • Participates in program monitoring and audits where necessary.
  • Sets up processes to ease audit burden on program staff.
  • Oversees the identification of training requirements for staff, and design of trainings for staff related to program competency.
  • Assist with the investigation of any adverse events, critical incidents and corrective actions deemed necessary.
  • Ensure best practice standards and outcomes are met.
  • Ensures all program licensing and legal requirements are met.
  • Assists the Associate Vice President of Quality Assurance with COA re-accreditation processes.
  • Provides technical assistance to all program areas.
  • Performs other duties as may be required to meet the goals of the program.

Other Functions:

  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, co-workers, physicians, and youth.
  • Maintain Health Information Privacy HIPAA.
  • Possess the ability to maintain control and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Provides support and empathy to clients.
  • Monitor implementation of ORR and LSF policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Supports and understands empowerment philosophy and multicultural awareness.

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 15-25 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.
  • Must have the ability to remain in standing position for extended periods of the workday.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in human services field plus three years progressive employment experience in program evaluation or program development.

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of increasing responsibilities and job-related experience.

Skills:

  • Bilingual highly preferred
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience with contract oversight and compliance.
  • leadership and administrative abilities.
  • able to collect and interpret data and statistics in order to monitor contract performance.
  • able to establish effective working relationships with all agency staff.
  • effective communicating at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • Technical skills include understanding of databases, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the service populations’ cultural, socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, parents, co-workers, volunteers, governmental and other agencies and the general public.
