Like every team at OpenAI, the Marketing team contributes to our broader mission of ensuring responsible and widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. With that aim in mind, we are responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and usage for OpenAI’s products and platform amongst our core audiences. We take a data-driven approach to understand our customers' needs and challenges, ensuring that their voices are reflected in product development and messaging. We then partner closely with product, engineering, developer relations, comms, and sales teams to create a cohesive customer experience across all our channels. Our focus extends beyond just promoting product features; we aim to provide valuable insights and resources that help our users make the most out of AI technologies.About the RoleThis role will establish our digital marketing discipline at OpenAI, and stand up search engine optimization (SEO), web experiments and A/B testing, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and performance marketing and demand generation pilots. You’ll be essential in incubating these practices and scoping the infrastructure, experiments, measurement, and working groups required to make them successful at scale. You’ll partner closely with Data Science, Product Growth, our Web and Design teams, as well as the rest of the Marketing org to deliver results and improve how our customers navigate our properties, learn about our products, and make decisions on how to implement our solutions. The role demands a unique blend of strategic foresight and practical execution skills. You'll need to thrive in fast-paced environments, adapting to the dynamism of the AI landscape. This role is based in San Francisco. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will:Design and drive a digital marketing strategy for OpenAI’s needs —spanning B2C, B2B, and B2D go-to-market motions.Scope experiments in partnership with various impacted teams, plan how to execute them and which channels to use, and iterate based on results.Share data insights with the rest of the cross-functional teams that touch the customer journey and experience to inform strategy.Stack-rank the most effective experiments to run across multiple channels, with the ability to strategically allocate budgets where needed.Improve our web funnel, all the way from discovery through to conversion.Onboard new vendors and agencies as needed to stand up experiments.Devise how to transform pilots into scaled programs based on learnings from experiments. You might thrive in this role if you have:Have 7+ years of experience in Growth Marketing, Web optimization, SEO, CRO, or related fields; at least 2+ years in Digital Marketing leadership rolesProven experience of building digital marketing programs from scrappy pilots to scaled teams. Are a strong communicator, able to effectively articulate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.Data driven and analytical, but not myopic to incremental A/B test results — can see the forest for the trees. Can flex between consumer and B2B audiences. Are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Share a passion for AI and its potential to transform industries and society.About OpenAIOpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
