The Opportunity: 

As a Senior Manager in Issuing Solutions, you will manage the Platform Services development team based in Highlands Ranch, CO where you will be responsible and accountable for the design, development, and support of multiple applications across several hardware platforms.   This position will have responsibility of day-to-day management of a team of up to 10 software developers and will also contribute to the software development process.  This position will report to the Director of Issuing Solutions Platform Services development based in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Build and maintain a high performing team, hire and retain the right talent in the right roleDevelop and empower direct reports to make appropriate technical decisionsDemonstrate Visa’s core values and maintain a positive and open demeanorFoster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and mentoringManage resources in alignment with forecast modelsPartner with Product resources to identify clear business requirementsManage development resources by setting clear business and technical expectationsManage development resources across multiple technologies including .Net, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Windows, Unix/LinuxWork collaboratively with senior management, architecture and senior development staff to develop broadly acceptable solutionsSet resource goals and delegate project workDrive consistency in artifacts and deliverables, budgets, and resource planningIdentify process improvements and/or ineffective use of project hours and resourcesGenerate innovative ideas, solutions, and opportunities to contribute to the Visa enterprise and Issuer Processing successEnsure resource availability to support deployment activities in various environmentsTake complete responsibility of the full life cycle of projects and oversee software release implementations when requiredPerform Scrum Master responsibilities for their direct report's scrum teams.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of
relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more
relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems,
Computer Engineering, Electrical or other relevant engineering field
• Prior management experience in leading high performing teams is highly
desired
• Proven record of defining technology roadmap, executing defined technology
strategies and driving adoption across a large enterprise
• Extensive experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing
large-scale production solutions
• Demonstrable experience developing enterprise-level applications using object oriented languages such as Java..
• Proficiency in using application containers such as Tomcat.
• Scrum Master certification or equivalent training.
• Hands-on experience with financial transaction processing systems.
• Strong analytical skills and able to work independently to solve sophisticated
engineering problems
• Proven ability to lead with passion and execute vision with little guidance and
ability to make independent judgments and decisions within established
guidelines
• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship
building skills conducive to collaboration. Able to work well in a global
collaborative environment

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 134,000.00 to 194,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
