Quality Assurance (QA) Lead
Purpose and Scope
The QA Lead is responsible for leading a team that performs critical functions in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment, supporting a company that plays a vital role in national defense. This is a working lead position, primary responsibilities include review and comprehension of complex blueprints, offline CMM programming, calibrating M&TE, inspection planning, contract execution and supervision of inspection team and inspection activities. In this position, attention to detail is crucial. Effective verbal, written communication and supervisory skills are required.
Responsibilities Objectives

PERFORMANCE: Continuously reduce inspection times while improving quality and delivery by completing all work on time or early that “works the first time”
TECHNOLOGY: Increase manufacturing efficiency and throughput by maximizing the capabilities of all inspection methods and programming software systems
ORGANIZATION: Improve operational workflow and throughput through ProShop ERP utilization, offline CMM programming and robust inspection plans

What you will get to do


Support and comply with Cogitic’s Quality Management System
Lead and manager inspection team
Utilize and gain proficiency in ProShop ERP software for daily tasks and projects
Utilize work orders and blueprints to develop and document the best inspection process with consideration of required tolerances and GD&T, for complex machined components
Utilize offline programming to support Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
Plan inspection activities- what gets measured when and how
Work with manufacturing team to ensure in-process inspection is supporting conformance and rapid delivery
Provide input and information for the creation of robust, repeatable processes for inspecting parts made from Heat Resistant Super Alloys (HRSA) and other exotic materials
Manage and maintain the gauge calibration program
Collaborate with the Mission Assurance and Engineering team to meet customer requirements
Perform hands on inspection as needed support on time shipment and development of processes and procedures

Results

Gain expert level proficiency in ProShop ERP software
Required deliverables are complete prior to scheduled production dates 100% of the time
Programs and processes are built so they “work the first time”
All inspection plans and programs are developed, reviewed and ready before they are needed
Effective collaboration and communication are demonstrated through daily interactions and execution of tasks

Organizational Relationships
The QA Lead reports to the VP Quality and has support responsibilities to Operations, Engineering, Mission Assurance and Supply Chain.
Qualifications and Experience

Associates (or higher) degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Programming or Drafting – preferred
5-10 years of quality assurance and inspection experience - required
Familiarity with ERP, Microsoft Office and other technical software systems - required
Minimum 5 years of working in a machining environment - required
Working knowledge and experience with Solidworks 3D modeling software – preferred
US citizen and ability to pass a background check and hold a security clearance – required
