Job SummaryBattelle is currently seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Technical Writer/Editor to provide expert technical writing and editing for training documents, geospatial toolkit manuals, tutorials, and advanced geospatial research reporting documents. This role supports the Map Based Mission Planning (MBMP) Software Development and general geospatial research programs at the Army Engineering Research & Development Center, Geospatial Research Lab (ERDC-GRL). Location: Army Engineering Research & Development Center, Geospatial Research Lab, Ft. Belvoir, VA.Responsibilities Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials for the MBMP Software Development program. Create, edit, and manage technical documentation and presentations. Collaborate with technical teams to gather and translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Review and edit documentation for clarity, grammar, spelling, and consistency. Ensure all documentation meets organizational standards and guidelines. Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports. Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to create graphic charts, working drawings and illustrations for publications/displays, etc. is a plus.

Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in technical writing or editing, preferably in a software development environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and translate complex technical information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with documentation tools. Knowledge of the government/defense industry, policies and protocols is a plus. Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance.
