Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking a skilled Technical Editor/Communications Specialist to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development Directorate. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating communication and marketing materials while providing technical editing and writing assistance. This role requires effective interaction with high-ranking military, government, intelligence, and corporate personnel. Work may be conducted on-site or remotely.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit experience as an author and/or editor for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) intended for high-level approval and signature.
  • Act as a focal point for the Research and Development Directorate concerning written media, communication services, and web presence.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing compliance with a style guide for all branding and messaging, including leading revisions and updates to the Directorate's style guide.
  • Develop and refine editorial and communications standard operating procedures.
  • Be adaptable and ready to assist with additional tasks requiring the above skills, such as preparing newsletters and developing training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree along with 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of pertinent experience, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist in new areas.
  • Strong organizational abilities.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Familiarity with the role of the R&D Directorate within the DoD acquisition lifecycle framework and the technology transition process.
  • Understanding of military operations in CBRN environments.
  • Experience with CATMS or other task management systems.
