The Manager of Community Engagement and Programs oversees our prestigious awards and recognition programs and online communities. You would play a pivotal role in building collaboration, ensuring operational excellence, and focusing on continuous improvement of all NSPE awards and member recognition programs, including the renowned Federal Engineer of the Year Award (FEYA), as well as managing a collaborative and vibrant online member community: you will help NSPE foster a community of engaged members and stakeholders.

As an NSPE team member, you will be focusing on overseeing the complete lifecycle of all NSPE awards programs and recognition programs, including applications, nominations, judging coordination, awards ceremonies.  NSPE has a vibrant online community which is an essential member value.  You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the online member community experience including fostering collaboration, driving innovation in online member engagement and ensuring that the member online experience is a successful one.

You will also implement best practices in awards management and drive continuous improvement across all programs to ensure NSPE'sprogram remain competitive and prestigious.

As our Manager, Community Engagement and Programs, you will collaborate with the Director of Membership to identify and analyze industry trends, member feedback and competitive landscapes to continuously improve member recognition and online community engagement opportunities

Things we’d like you to bring to our NSPE team…

You’ve completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, have five to eight years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and driving program value. Your experience in awards program management and/or online communities or an equivalent of education and related experience will be highly desirable.

We’d need you to have strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to write, edit, and engage effectively. You’ll need to have strong organizational skills to work effectively in a team setting.  You’d be working on concurrent deliverables and projects to meet established goals, deadlines, and quality standards.

Your initiative and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines would be vital for the role and the team. Working with the team and customers, you’d be implementing your strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of NSPE staff, and members, including volunteer leaders, and the engineering community.  You must have strong project management skills to be successful in the role.

As our Manager, Community Engagement and Awards you’d use your strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 products including Teams, Outlook email and calendar, database software, event planning software and the internet.

Things you’ll be contributing and doing as our NSPE Manager, Community Engagement and Programs…

You would have the opportunity to partner with senior leadership and stakeholders, develop and implement comprehensive annual  plans for all NSPE awards  and recognition programs, including the prestigious FEYA.

You would cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across all programs, the online community platform, including nominees, recipients, jurors, sponsors, government officials, volunteers, community champions and NSPE members.

You’ll also serve as our staff liaison to the honors and awards committee.

Finally, you’ll experience occasional travel and you’ll be asked to perform other duties and tasks in addition to what we’ve noted above.
