Role Description

We are seeking a Programming Scheduling Assistant to join our team full-time at our Brooklyn, NY office. This is an entry-level position within the content operations team. The Programming Scheduling Assistant will support daily operations, including communication, customer service, phone etiquette, administrative assistance, and training-related tasks. The ideal candidate will work closely with the programming scheduling team to ensure smooth operation and coordination of content.


Key Responsibilities:


Programming:

  • Maintain and update the programming database.
  • Review and update content information as needed.


Scheduling:

  • Generate, review, and complete daily broadcast logs.
  • Input media elements into the scheduling system.
  • Execute promotional strategies.
  • Maintain a database of all on-air elements.


Closed Captioning:

  • Update, deliver, and review .scc files to ensure compliance with closed captioning standards.


LTO (Linear Tape-Open):

  • Add new data to the LTO system and transfer master files.


Secondary Events:

  • Create, schedule, and manage entries for secondary events.
  • Download, review, upload, and deliver files to the Media Center (MC).


Reports:

  • Prepare the monthly purge list.
  • Generate weekly and monthly air date reports.
  • Create and update reports as requested.


Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and administrative assistance capabilities.
  • Experience providing training and support.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with television scheduling systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • An associate’s degree in communications, administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with databases and metadata is desirable.
  • Traffic/programming experience (1 year) or prior media experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
