The Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare.The Surgical Nurse Practitioner provides patient services under the collaboration of a licensed physician. The Surgical Nurse Practitioner ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare.Call frequency: 1 weekend a monthCall will be included in this role with a frequency of 1:5 rotation.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program.Preferred/Optional: NoneEXPERIENCEMinimum Required: NonePreferred/Optional: One to two years’ experience in specialty.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure or Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants.Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.
