Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Urology (UTI Clinic) Albany Med Health System – Albany, NY The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team and manage our specialized UTI Clinic. This role offers a focused opportunity to provide expert care for patients with urinary tract infections while also supporting the broader urology practice. Position Highlights Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Dedicated UTI Clinic within a busy academic urology practice Average of 1,700 UTI diagnoses managed annually Opportunity to combine scheduled visits with participation in the rotation for same-day urgent add-ons Responsibilities Manage diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections for new and established patients Review and interpret urine cultures to guide treatment decisions Conduct virtual visits to review test results, discuss treatment options and provide patient education Order and interpret additional diagnostic testing when indicated Support preoperative evaluations by reviewing and managing pre-surgical urine cultures Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care Participate in the rotation for urgent urology add-on visits, which may include cases such as hematuria, elevated PSA, kidney stones, or acute infections Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record Qualifications License and active registration as a registered nurse/ nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program Familiarity working in electronic medical records. Epic experience a plus. Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment. Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
