This role reports directly to the Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor.About Port Townsend Paper Corporation (PTPC)The Port Townsend Paper ("PTPC") mill is proud to have been in continuous operation for more than 90 years. We use a blend of virgin and recycled fibers (Kraft and OCC pulp) to produce Kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, medium and market pulp. PTPC is proud to provide good, prevailing wage jobs on the Olympic Peninsula.Job ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoots process control, and instrumentation systems.Documents new systems, changes, and corrective actions.Repairs and performs maintenance of mill equipment and systems.Contacts vendors and inquiries about instruments and control devices.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrates and provides a working knowledge of PLCs, and an understanding of instrument communication protocols, DCS, Pneumatics, basic hydraulics, and NFPA 70E regulations.Ability to read electrical blueprints, P&ID loop drawings, and related technical manuals.Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting methods, and critical thinking skills.Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and basic computer skills.QualificationsRequired ExperienceExperience with low voltage electrical work, industrial instrumentation process control, troubleshooting instrument loops/controls, and electrical safety practices are preferred.Required Education2-year degree in instrumentation with a minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience.BenefitsCompetitive salary starting at $42.95 - $46.84 per hour.A comprehensive health care plan including prescription, vision care, life insurance, and dental plan.Flexible Spending Account (FSA).An exceptional retirement plan.Employee Assistance coverage with full services, including dietary and nutritional services, retirement planning, and support services.2-5 weeks of vacations, pending years of service.10 paid holidays per year.This is a union-represented position.Port Townsend Paper Corporation is an equal-opportunity employer.
