Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Vocational/Practical Nursing.
- Current State license as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse, or a multi-state license issued by a state member of the National Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) if practicing in a state member of the NLC, current driver's license.
- Two years experience as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.
Requirements:
- Patient Care:
- Provide direct patient care in their place of residence, delivering nursing services under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assess and monitor the health status of patients of all ages.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate care with patients, families, and referring agencies to ensure a holistic approach to healthcare.
- Communicate effectively with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Keep accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and progress.
- Compliance and Licensing:
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to nursing practice.
- Maintain a current and valid State license as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse.
- Ensure compliance with the National Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) if applicable.
- Experience and Skill Application:
- Apply nursing skills based on generally accepted standards of practice.
- Utilize good interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and their families.
- Environmental and Working Conditions:
- Adapt to working in various conditions, including the patient's home.
- Manage possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
- Work a flexible schedule, including local travel, and occasionally face unpleasant weather conditions.
- Physical and Mental Effort:
- Engage in prolonged standing and walking.
- Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move patients.
- Work under stressful conditions, meeting deadlines, making quick decisions, and acquiring necessary resources.
- Address patient and family psycho-social needs with sensitivity and empathy.
- Display hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity in nursing tasks.
