You Are A person who has lived and breathed engineering, construction, project management and project controls who likes to think big picture and help find solutions. You have a solid working knowledge and experience in the engineering documentation and information management processes required to build and modernize physical assets, infrastructure, and buildings. You have experience and/or interests in digital solutions that can help clients do more. You are good with people and eager to learn new project and product solutions. You are comfortable supporting project leads during meetings and workshops, and able to support with material and content development. Responsibilities Support electrical estimates, including substation upgrades, build out, control housework, and civil underground work. Prepare standard WBS estimates and assumptions with documentation of confidence. Prepare side-by-side analysis of estimates upon request to provide lessons learned and generate parametric values. Support, contribute and implement standardization of estimating standards required to develop better processes with the Project team. Apply applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals and performance metrics in the electric, distribution, transmission and substation areas for all cost estimates. Possess a strong understanding of design drawings and detailed engineering and construction prints. Calculate job requirements from design documents, including quantities, resource hours, duration, limitations, etc. Conduct modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis and other estimate-related financial and implementation analysis. Track, maintain, analyze and provide current estimating information on scorecard or key performance indicators. Prepare, update and maintain standard material and labor unit costs to support estimate creation and database updates. Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in transmission, substation and distribution electrical estimating. Ability to read and interpret detailed prints and specifications for conceptual, lump sum or unit pricing. Ability to perform take-offs and compare unit pricing. Must be fluent with Microsoft Office. Experience with RS Means, WinEst estimating software or other computerized bidding software is mandatory. Bonus Points Experience developing estimates for substation utility projects. Ability to work in a team environment, good listening and communications skills. Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast‑paced environment. Superior time management skills; must be able to meet strict deadlines. Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement and solve problems. Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams. Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff. Able to demonstrate business acumen and communicate effectively across multiple levels, both internally and externally.
