Position Summary

Sinclair seeks to attract an academically and culturally diverse faculty that carries out the mission of the college with dedication, innovation and a commitment to the success of each student.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses at our partner correctional institutions:

· Allen Correctional – Lima

· Dayton Correctional – Dayton

· Lebanon Correctional – Lebanon

· Warren Correctional – Lebanon

· Trumbull Correctional – Leavittsburg

· Ohio State Penitentiary – Youngstown

· Franklin Medical Center – Columbus

· Correctional Reception Center – Columbus

· Pickaway Correctional – Columbus (Orient)

· Southeastern Correctional – Lancaster

· Southern Ohio Correctional Facility – Lucasville

· Ross Correctional – Chillicothe

· Ohio Reformatory for Women – Marysville

Principal Accountabilities

· Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning

· Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies

· Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate

· Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs

· Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success

· Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning

· Maintain accurate records of student progress

· Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines

· Maintain confidentiality of student information

· Cannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

· A minimum of a Master’s degree in management, business, marketing, or related field required. Or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area is required

· Experience teaching Microsoft Office Applications preferred

· Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred

· A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level

· Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community

· Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction

· Instructors must be available to teach in a classroom environment prior to teaching online

· Ability to pass a DRC background check required

Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
