Overview:

Sea Captains House has been a favorite of the Grand Strand for over 60 years. We are a high-volume, fast-paced, oceanfront restaurant with an award-winning kitchen that is looking for Prep Cooks to join our team As a Prep Cook, you will prepare ingredients, set up workstations, properly store and maintain kitchen supplies and inventory, and perform other related duties to support kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

Prep Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Follow recipes to prepare food using various utensils and methods
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and stock product when there are shortages
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the restaurants spaces, including kitchen, prep areas, dining areas, and restrooms as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Certified is a plus, but not required
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for long periods of time
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail
