Summary: 

Provide quality, accurate and timely service involving daily review of financial transactions for fraudulent account activity for preventing and detection of possible transaction and check fraud.  Position requires that the individual handle extremely complex issues and possess current knowledge of financial operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Respond to inquiries to resolve complex and sensitive problems
  • Review items and documents for discrepancies
  • Conduct complex account review/research
  • Work with various business partners to resolve complex issues. Large customer relationships may be involved, and mishandling could cause a large financial loss to the bank
  • Prepare to utilize an onboarding financial fraud analyst software to detect if a check being presented is counterfeit
  • Must be able to work within a limited daily timeframe to detect counterfeit items
  • Must possess the ability to apply sound judgement, effectively solve problems and determine fraudulent activity consistently
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with excellent follow through
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience with financial fraud analyst software a plus but not required
  • Perform all other related duties and special project as assigned

Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:

  • 2 – 3 years banking operations experience
  • College degree or equivalent in experience
  • Fraud experience preferred 
  • Thorough knowledge of bank applications/transaction processing preferred (particularly depository applications)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to identify and escalate systemic issues and/or process breakdowns
  • Ability to assist in resolving systemic issues and/or process breakdowns
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to define and implement workflow
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Excel
  • Hogan core system a plus but not required

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday / 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
