Foundry Process Engineer

Foundry Process Engineer
The Foundry Process Engineer will assist with the sampling and development of processes for new product aluminum castings and continuous improvement on existing aluminum casting processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Foundry Tooling and Design Engineers to develop initial processes for new products
- Sample new products to outlined initial process parameters and monitor results to drive improvement
- Suggest and implement improvements to reduce scrap and increase casting output
- Evaluate operating temperatures, paint schemes, gating volume/design, and other process parameters
- Assist with initial training of production operators on new product processes
- Develop initial process sheets for casting processes with assistance from Quality Department
- Participate in cross functional review of casting production
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Foundry or Metal Processing Technology is preferred
- 2+ years engineering experience in a foundry environment
- MAGMA solidification software is beneficial
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing documents such as prints, instruction manuals, process sheets, work instructions, and safety documents
- Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior
