Boston, United States Amazon Full time
Sr Product Manager - Technical, Planning Tools

Job ID: 2724818 | Amazon Web Services, Inc.

Do you want to be part of an innovative and rapidly growing business? Are you looking for a role with ownership and the ability to work across global teams to launch a product?

AWS’s Sales, Marketing and Global Services Operations (SMGS Ops) team provides the data, technology, products, tools, and processes to support the rapidly growing world-wide AWS Sales organization. This includes finding inventive ways to scale the business and drive revenue impacting initiatives which will be critical for AWS to continue its incredible growth.

The SMGS Ops team is looking for a results-driven, customer-focused, and innovative Sr Product Manager to work directly with a team of engineers to develop products and solutions that allow the entire AWS Sales team to go to market and grow revenue.

In this role, you will:

  1. Serve as the direct product manager for a team of developers, translating our strategic roadmap into a product backlog, defining success objectives, metrics, and product requirements for the team to execute.
  2. Engage with native AWS systems and services that are at the cutting edge of technology, pioneering new methods and approaches to delivering software, serving customers, and enabling large, distributed, worldwide sales teams.
  3. Work closely with data scientists, engineering and other technical product/program managers to define, build, drive and measure mechanisms to enable our field sales teams.
  4. Work directly with other product teams and business leaders to identify opportunities to improve SMGS CRM’s products, tools, data, analytics, and reporting offerings.
  5. Leverage strong communication skills and a passion for using data and software to drive business decisions at scale.

We have a team culture that encourages innovation and we expect team members and management alike to take a high degree of ownership for their program vision and execution. A successful candidate will have experience driving strategy and influencing executive leadership. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter, approaches complex business questions with data and curiosity, and dives below the surface to identify the root cause and "so what" rather than just superficial trends.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with and influence key stakeholders from Global AWS Sales and Sales Operations teams and other System and Application teams across SMGS.
  2. Lead document development for leadership reviews.
  3. Define and manage product roadmap.
  4. Capture, document, and communicate business requirements.
  5. Translate requirements into features and user stories, ensuring technical team understanding of requirements.
  6. Manage technical build against business requirements.
  7. Own project status updates to customers, stakeholders, and leadership.
  8. Plan and conduct user testing.
  9. Develop and execute launch plan (communications, training, user resources, etc.).
  10. Drive change management and adoption of solution across AWS Sales and Sales Operations.
  11. Manage post-launch activities (user support, new feature development, etc.).
  12. Establish KPIs, model performance metrics, identify analytical gaps, and improve performance and adoption of the platform.
  13. Deep dive problems or opportunity areas and propose solutions to address.
  14. Generate new ideas to drive improvement, efficiency and automation across AWS Sales that will enable AWS to scale and grow.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  2. Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
  3. Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition, and managing technical products or online services.
  4. Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.
  5. Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience in influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights.
  2. Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders.

Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, or other legally protected status.
