The Physician Liaison III develops and expands the patient referral base to grow UVVC clinic business by calling on various physicians, medical offices, hospitals, and others within the assigned market.
- Contributes to the UVVC business plan and strategy in close partnership with the director of business development.
- Develops and expands referral base to grow designated UVVC clinic business.
- Continuously reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and reports on various information and data regarding existing product performance and potential development opportunities.
- Educates new and existing physician contacts on services offered by UVVC.
- Maintains image of UVVC in the target community as cutting-edge experts on the treatment of vein disease.
- Oversees efforts to ensure UVVC is positioned competitively to protect and grow market share. This includes routine analysis of the strengths and services of competitors.
- Identifies physician referral opportunities within the medical community through research and prospecting.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing communications with referring providers and/or their office staff, including routine or follow-up visits in person, or through emails and phone calls.
- Provides information and branded messages to physicians on UVVC products and services.
- Identifies and coordinates speaking opportunities within hospitals, ALFs, and medical associations.
- Identifies strategies to promote provider engagement and collaboration, including new provider orientation, office visits, social events, referral dinners, CEUs, etc.
- Utilizes networking opportunities to nurture relationships with local community organizations/small businesses and increase advocacy of UVVC within the territory.

- Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with UVVC’s Standards of Conduct as outlined in our Employee Handbook.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years’ experience in healthcare sales and/or marketing.
- 5+ years of business development experience.
- RN, PT, MD, OT, PA, NP, LPN with clinical/vascular experience (preferred; not required)
- Proven and verifiable track record of success in healthcare referral marketing, pharmaceutical sales, device sales, or physician marketing.
- Active book of business within the following call points:
- Internal Med
- Family Practice
- Podiatry
- Wound Care
- Orthopedics
- OB/GYN
- Dermatology
- Established in the market.
- Proficient in the use of Salesforce.
- Must possess a proven ability to communicate with and positively persuade others.
- Proficient in medical terminology and acumen.
- Strong business acumen.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently meet with internal physicians to discuss market strategy.
- Ability to independently meet with external physicians to educate on UVVC service lines.
- Must be proficient in the use of a CRM (Salesforce preferred).
- Results driven.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to embrace and adapt to new system technologies to support the business.
- Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards for the role.
If promotional opportunity for internal candidate:
- Must achieve 100% of opportunities goal for 3 out of 4 consecutive quarters.
- Compliant with all Lessonlys, MedTrainers and KnowBe4.
- Free of performance write-ups or performance improvement plans for 4 consecutive quarters.
